We stayed at Ala Stone House for four nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is located about a 10–12 minute walk from the center of Göreme, which made it perfect for us since we were looking for a quieter spot away from the crowds. The room was spacious, with a large bathroom and a beautiful mountain view. It had both air conditioning and heating, although we didn’t use either — visiting in June, we relied on natural ventilation. With a west-facing window, we enjoyed cool, fresh air in the evenings. The ambiance of the hotel is warm and inviting, made even more special by its furry residents. There's a lovely cat named Ala (the namesake of the hotel), who might be shy at first but warms up to you over time. She also has two adorable kittens. In addition, there are two friendly and playful dogs — Niesmo and Puppy — who brought a lot of joy to our stay. One of the highlights was the delicious Turkish breakfast, which had a wide variety of items and was consistently excellent. The staff were attentive and respectful, always ready to help but also giving us space. If you’d like the room cleaned during your stay, you just need to let them know — they won’t disturb your privacy otherwise, which we really appreciated. We were also warmly welcomed with drinks and bottled water on arrival, which set a great tone for the rest of the stay. Overall, Ala Stone House is a great place to relax, especially if you’re looking for a calm, friendly, and authentic experience in Cappadocia. Highly recommended!

The location is about a 15 minute walk from Goreme city center. For young adults, it is very doable, gets a bit much for older people and kids. It’s a flat area, no uphill walk. If you want to cut out the walk completely, you can stay in the city center of Goreme. The space was as per the images. It was clean, bathrooms were clean. One of our rooms had a few minor issues with the bathroom - a little leak from under the shower door, the sink coming in the way of opening the door - minor stuff like that which was not an annoyance in anyway. The bathroom of the other room we had rented was perfect. The staff was very helpful and warm. Aziz at the front desk was always smiling and genuinely helpful. They have two dogs that hang out in the lobby, very sweet, but if you are completely averse to animals - you should keep this in mind.
